Welcome to the first week of the SCAD x Harbor x ETC blog! Throughout this collaboration and mentor-based class, I will be posting weekly updates on our development process and project progress.
During our first week, we conducted research and brainstorming to determine which product we would feature for our visual advertisement. After exploring several ideas, we decided to focus on the eufyMake UV Printer E1, as it represents the innovation and high-level technology we were encouraged to explore for this project.

Concept
The idea for this project is to focus on the versatility of the eufyMake UV Printer E1 by showcasing the wide range of objects and materials it can print on, highlighting how its advanced technology allows for high-quality, detailed results across different surfaces.
Team
Our team consist on:
Benji Hopkins — Look Development
Itim Kongsakulvatanasook — FX
Riley Ho — FX
Yiqi Zheng — FX
Sofia Mancias — Compositing
We have already held meetings aiming for proper planning for the project. During this first week, the team did an amazing job preparing our pitch for the upcoming class. From Benji’s storyboard to Itim, Riley, and Yiqi’s FX mood boards, as well as the lighting inspiration and animatic, we worked collaboratively to clearly define and communicate our ideas.
This early organization has allowed us to align creatively and ensure that our concept can be presented effectively during the pitch.
For our moodboard, we focused on a minimal, high tech aesthetic inspired by premium product advertising. The references emphasize clean compositions, dark environments, and controlled lighting to highlight form and material.
We chose low-key, cinematic lighting with strong contrast and directional spotlights to sculpt the printer and separate it from the background. This approach positions the eufyMake UV Printer as a precise, professional, and innovative tool, while giving it a strong visual presence suitable for a hero product shot.
As part of the compositing team, I will also be responsible for helping keep the project on track and ensuring that all deliverables are completed within the assigned timeframe. When working across multiple projects and classes, priorities and schedules can shift, so maintaining organization and clear communication is essential. Making sure the team stays aligned with responsibilities and deadlines will be key to ensuring a successful final product.
